Multi-year interdisciplinary research project “Station of the Future” published
We are pleased to see the results of the multi-year interdisciplinary research project “Station of the Future” published, today.
Commissioned by the federal German Centre for Rail Traffic Research (DZSF), the interdisciplinary study explores how railway stations can become more user-oriented, attractive and truly multimodal places. Within the research consortium, Gateways contributed the architectural and spatial perspective: translating passenger needs and the User Journey into concrete design requirements and future station spatial concepts.
One of the results of the study is a modular catalogue of 32 measures for improved comfortand orientation, intermodal connections, accessibility, safety and quality of stay — helping to turn stations from places of transit into places for people.
