Starting and ending point for commuters and visitors traversing the city of Amsterdam on the North/South metro line, Station Noord handles more than 40.000 travellers every day. Its imposing, transparent canopy – made of bent steel trusses and giant, cold-bendable glass plates - hovers over the platforms like a giant caterpillar. Right next to the metro station lies a busy bus station for inner city and regional transport, making this an important transit hub right in the heart of Amsterdam Noord, boosting the development of this area on the edge of the city.
With the 10 kilometre long North/South metro line traveling through Amsterdam has become easy, comfortable, safe and fast: it takes you from one end of the city to the other in just under 15 minutes. The seven stations (two above and five below ground) are designed as functional, logical transport hubs that are integrated into the urban fabric and provide the very best travel experience.
